We Love Music!

We Love listening to Music on our MP3 player from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s; from Jazz, Rock, Motown, Rhythm and Blues, Disco, Bluegrass, Country and more. Groups as Bill Haley & His Comets, Four Tops, Paul Revere & the Raiders, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Carpenters, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eagles, Bee Gees, Electric Light Orchestra, Simon & Garfunkel, Jackson 5, Earth, Wind & Fire, Alabama, The Charlie Daniels Band, and more.

We Loves to Read!

I’m a bookworm and love to read, but our local library system sucks. Thankfully, we own an e-reader and can find exactly what we want to read on Amazon and send it to our Kindle Fire Tablet. Then we can go sit on the porch while we’re waiting for a package to arrive and read an excellent book. We love the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Ian Fleming, Howard Lovecraft, John Bunyan, C. S. Lewis, H.G. Wells, Robert Howard, and others. Learn what we're reading @ Goodread.com.

We Love Classic TV Shows or Movies!

We ONLY enjoy classic TV shows or movies from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, the good stuff. Shows as Bewitched, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Lucy Show, Mister Ed, Hogan's Heroes, M*A*S*H, The Odd Couple, All In The Family, Sanford and Son, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, The Love Boat, etc. Police and Detective Shows as Dragnet, Perry Mason, Ironside, CHiPs, Charlie's Angels, Hawaii Five-O, etc. Sci-Fi as Star Trek, Stargate SG-1, etc. Today's TV shows and movies SUCK! This is why we cut the cable or ever view free over the air TV. We use a Roku or a DVD-Blu-ray player to avoid annoying commercials. View our profile on IMDb - Click Here.

CB Radio was the Original Free Speech Social Media Network

Before Friendster, Myspace, Facebook, Meta Threads, Twitter, or 4chan. CB Radio was the original Free Speech social media network people used throughout the United States and other parts of the world. People would give smoky reports, traffic and weather advisories, give directions, cut up and men loved to report about the fine-looking beavers; especially if the ladies were driving convertibles and the men jokingly claim to be driving by to check out the lady's seat-covers; LoL! I and Tutti Cowgirl were both hard-core CB Radio enthusiasts for years. Yep, back in the day, you rarely saw a car, truck or home without a CB Radio. We started when we were young and received our first CB Radio for our birthday. When we came home from school or work, we fired up the TV and our CB Radio; to chat the day and night away with our CB Radio friends from around the world! When we started into CB Radio, there were only 23 channels, and you needed an FCC license. The FCC allowed us to use our father's call-sign of KAVJ-1318. When we left home on our 18th birthday and got a place of our own. Then we got our own call-sign of KBMV-3443. Our CB handle was the Bookworm. People jokingly gave us our CB handle because we spent lots of time reading books and loved to talk about what we were reading. In the 70s, they went from 23 to 40 channels. The need for an FCC license ended on April 28, 1983. However, CB Radio lost much of its appeal because of the development of mobile phones and the internet. Yep, when the Internet came along, we got rid of our antenna's, which were an eye-sore and sold out. You still have a small number who use the CB Radio today, and some have tried Amateur Radio. However, Amateur Radio is suffering the same fate due to the development of mobile phones and the internet. In time, both hobbies will fade away into history as more people fall in love with the Internet.

Why We Cut It off!

Why We Cut It off!

Today's TV shows and movies SUCK and why it was easy to cut the cable. We quit viewing over-the-air TV. I use a Roku or a DVD-Blu-ray player to avoid annoying commercials. We turned off obsolete AM and FM Radio to have more choices in music and listen to a variety of podcasts online. I ONLY love classic TV shows or movies from the 50s, 60s, 70s and the 80s; the good stuff. We enjoy content like The Beverly Hillbillies; The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy, Green Acres, Andy Griffith Show, The Mothers-in-Law, That Girl, The Saint, I Spy, Peter Gunn, One Step Beyond; Star Trek: The Next Generation; Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Charlie Chan Movies.
You can purchase virtually anything you love online. So, we have no need for high-priced cable TV with those obsolete cable channels. I love being able to choose the TV Show or Movies we want to view and when to view it. We get our news and weather from our smartphone or online. We wish the obsolete cable companies would quit calling or writing to us with cut rate offers and focus on improving their Internet services. Yeah, like offering us a good deal on higher Internet speeds would be fantastic!

The Streaming Wars

I consider myself a winner thanks to the streaming wars. I found that since I can’t watch many of the classic TV shows or movies I once enjoyed; I lost all interest in watching them. Since I can’t watch everything I want to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Vudu; I realize that it’s not that important to watch so much television. So, I canceled my subscription to Netflix and used the money for other things. Because of the streaming wars, I now watch far less television. Giving us time to read more, work on my blogs and I do other activities with our family. So, I’m really the winner of the streaming wars. Thanks to Netflix, Disney Plus, Paramount Plus, HBO Max, Hulu, etc. Plus, we can avoid those annoying commercials and why I'll never use so-called FREE streaming services like Crackle, etc.

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.""The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain."As Walt Disney said: “Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”
